Introduction to Geometric Figures and Shapes

In geometric has the many figures. The shapes various from one shape to another. The two-dimensional shapes are known as the polygon. The shapes are creating by the straight line. It is a closed line figures. The geometric has the regular and irregular shapes. Here we will see about these shapes.

Shapes

Two-dimensional figures are follows,

  • Circle
  • Triangle
  • Square
  • Rectangle
  • Parallelogram
  • Trapezoid
  • Rhombus
  • Octagon
  • Pentagon
  • Hexagon

Three-dimensional figures as follows,

  • Cube
  • Cylinder
  • Cone
  • Prism
  • Pyramid.

Explanation

Now we will see about some of the shapes explanations.

Circle

It is a set of points in a level surface that are all the similar distance from a fixed point. The flat point is known as the center. The line segment grouping the center to any point on the circle is known as the radius.

This figure represents the circle.

Triangle

It is a three closed line figure. The total angles are 180 degree. The shapes as given below,

This figure represents the triangle.

Square

It is a four sided shapes. Four sides lengths are same. 360 degree is the total angles of square. The picture is as follows,

This is represents the square shape.

Cube

A three-dimensional solid object enclosed by six square faces with three meeting at every vertex. The other name of cube is regular hexahedron.

This figure represents the cube structure.

Cylinder

A cylinder is one of the most basic rounded geometric shapes. It creates by long straight line. Cylinder two sides length equal.

This figure represents the cylinder shape.

Cone

Cone is also a three-dimensional geometric shapes. One end of a line is turned about a second fixed line while keeping the lines other end preset, and then a cone is formed.

This figure shows the shape of cone

Pyramid

It is a polyhedron shaped by connecting a polygonal bottom and a point is known as apex. Each base edge and apex forms a triangle. It is a conic solid with polygon base.
